Obituary for Rita Ann "Nene" Moore (McDonald)

Rita Ann "Nene" Moore (McDonald)
Rita Ann “NeNe” McDonald Moore, daughter of Clara L. McDonald and the late Fred T. McDonald, was born in Fayetteville, TN on May 1, 1966. In the seventies, as a young child, her family moved to Killeen, Texas. She entered into eternal rest on Sunday October 30, 2016 at Seton Medical Center.
NeNe, as she was affectionately known, attended school at C.E. Ellison High School in Killeen, Texas. Rita graduated from Southern Career Institute in Corpus Christi, Texas as a medical assistant. She was a member of Adams Chapel A.M.E. Church in Harker Heights, Texas. Rita was employed for many years as a corrections officer. Most recently she was employed as a Nursing Assistant at the Central Texas Veterans Healthcare Administration (VA Hospital) in Temple, Texas.
Rita was a loving mother, exceptional grandmother, and a true friend. Rita was a strong and feisty independent woman, had no problems speaking her mind, and was respected and admired by many because of these qualities. She believed she received her blessings by blessing others.
Rita was always there for a word of encouragement and advice for family members and friends. She was a giving person and always ready to jump in and help when she was needed and expected nothing in return. She was an exceptional mentor for the younger generation. Her laugh was infectious and people enjoyed being in her presence because of her prankster-like personality. She had a very playful soul and loved her family and friends. Rita was adored and loved by many who will truly miss seeing and talking to her.
On Sunday, October 30, 2016 Rita Ann McDonald was called to eternal rest. She leaves to cherish her memories her children Matthew McDonald and wife Vanessa, Kenyetta McDonald, Angelique Tillis, Jeremy Tillis, and Cory McDonald; her mother Clara McDonald; granddaughters Bailey and Auriana; her ten sisters Rosolyn (Randy), Rena (David), Retta (Earlie), Shontail, Elaine, Connie, Sylvia (Robert), Marie (Vincent), Jessie and Sharon; her five brothers Ronnie, Fred (Melody), Melvin (Wanda), Michael (Trina) and Otis as well as special friends Sissy, Sunny B. and Kristyn; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
She was preceded in death by her sister Mary Anne Henderson, brother Jeffery McDonald, father Fred T. McDonald, grandmother Viola G. Wells, and niece Brittany Buchanan.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00AM on Saturday, November 5, 2016 at Hewett-Arney Funeral Home in Temple with Pastor Forbes officiating. Visitation will be held from 6-8:00PM Friday evening at the funeral home.
