Sammy Dale Rankin, age 70 of Temple died Tuesday, February 28, 2017 at his residence. He was born on October 15, 1946 in San Fernando, CA to John and Jessie (Chism) Rankin.
Sammy was a graduate of Sylmar High School in California. He married Debra Bennett on September 1, 1979 in Sylmar. He moved to Temple 3 years ago from Palmdale, CA.
He is preceded in death by his parents John and Jessie and his two grandsons William Murdock and Charlie Rankin.
He will be greatly missed by his wife Debra Rankin of Temple, his two sons Randy Rankin of Austin and John Rankin of Houston, his daughter Buffy Murdock of Temple, his 4 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.
Private family services will be held at a later date. Hewett-Arney Funeral Home is entrusted with the arrangements.
