Herman R. Kuhnert, age 92 of Temple died Tuesday, March 28, 2017 in a local hospital. He was born on April 19, 1924 in Bendena, Kansas to Herman L. and Morretta (Spencer) Kuhnert.
Herman married Irene Reder in 1943 in Bakersfield, CA. They were married for 42 years. Herman proudly served in the United States Army. He was a World War II veteran and served in Germany at the Battle of the Bulge. He lived in Temple since 1976 and was a member of the VFW. He was the owner and founder of H & B Supply Inc.
He is preceded in death by his wife Irene Kuhnert, his parents Herman and Morretta Kuhnert and a daughter LaVon Barnes.
He will be greatly missed by his son Robert Kuhnert of McKinney, his daughter Linda Fridell of Temple, his grandsons Michael Sumner of Burleson, Warren Harmon of Frisco, his granddaughters Alison Fortson of Frisco, Amy McGinnis of Flower Mound and Laurie Mershon of Flower Mound, his niece Patricia Begesse and husband Charles of Temple, his brother-in-law Alvin Wehking of Atchison, Kansas and his 11 great-grandchildren.
Private family services will be held at a later date in Kansas. Hewett-Arney Funeral Home of Temple is entrusted with the arrangements.
