Dallas William Eckman, 29 years of age died, Saturday, August 26, 2017 in a Waco hospital.

A visitation/vigil will be held on Wednesday night at the funeral home from 6-8PM with the rosary being recited at 7.
Dallas is survived by his Mother, Peggy (Greger) Eckman of Rockdale, 3 children- Faith Gehring & William James Gehring of Rockdale and Miranda Beal of Houston. 2 sisters - LaWanda Bell of Rosebud and Virginia Buster of Baileyville, as well as 5 nieces & 3 nephews, many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
Dallas attended Rockdale ISD and graduated from ATI Mechanical School in Houston. Dallas was employed as foreman at Gannaway's Gutters in Levi, Texas, where they traveled around the state of TX installing gutters on new homes and businesses.
Dallas's greatest love was spending time with his children- as Faith said; Daddy "would even climb in our kiddie pool with us". Dallas loved picking, playing and wrestling with both of them so much that Grandma would have to call him down and ask him if he was there same age.
Dallas loved working on vehicles and even though he didn't attend the University of Texas he was an avid Longhorn Fan. You never saw Dallas that he didn't have his Longhorn cap, T-shirt and in the evening comfy basketball shorts on.
Dallas was a very happy-go-lucky kid. His answer to most issues was "oh, it will be all right!" He always had a big heart and the best intentions to do good and what was right. Anytime his Aunt Donna & Uncle Marty ever ask him to come down to help, he always came, no matter how small, large, insignificant it was, he always did a superior job. He was a jack-of-all-trades.
His favorite thing was cooking out, camping and as far as he was concerned nobody could cook as good as his mom could. His favorite meal being his moms, ham, mashed potatoes and ham gravy and then of course mom’s signature dish, her "chicken and rice casserole" that he shared with all of his friends, so there was never any leftovers.
Dallas will be sincerely missed by those who knew and loved him dearly. Dallas most beloved dog was Bevo. He had a love for animals, so in lieu of flowers, please donate to your local SPCA in memory of Dallas.
Pallbearers include: Jonathan Wilde, Nicholas Greger, Ryan Greger, Cameron Hughes, Brandon Fulton, Trey Gilligan, Trey Benton, Matt Smart
