Bobbie Jean Weeks, 77, of Bartlett, passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 2, 2017. Bobbie Jean was born January 3, 1940, near Bartlett, to Jesse Lee and Ida Louise Hunt. She grew up in Bartlett and graduated from Bartlett High School in 1958. Bobbie Jean attended Durham’s Business College in Austin then worked in the trust department at Capital National Bank in Austin for a number of years. In 1973 she moved back to her hometown of Bartlett. While working for the City of Bartlett, a friend introduced Bobbie Jean to the Elementary School Principal and teacher, James D. Weeks. The two were married several months later. They enjoyed 44 years of marriage.
Bobbie Jean loved all things antique. In 1990 she realized her life-long dream when she opened Granny’s House, an antique shop in downtown Bartlett. She was an active member of the Bartlett community and took great pride in helping to revive the downtown area.
Bobbie Jean was preceded in death by her parents, Jesse Lee and Ida Louise Hunt; her in-laws, Guy and Lillian Weeks; and her brother, Carl Lee Hunt.
Survivors include her husband, James D. Weeks of Bartlett; daughter, Jan Moeller of Bartlett; a sister Pam Hill and husband Tommy of Bartlett; grandchildren, Natalie Ramos of Katy; Tiffany Dubec of Littleton, CO; and Clint Dubec and wife Jessica of Houston; eight great-grandchildren and many other cherished, extended family members.
In accordance with Bobbie Jean’s wishes, a Celebration of Life gathering will take place at the convenience of the family.
